This prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is offered for the sake of the Church, that Christ may guide and guard it and that we may all remain united to the Church. It is also prayed for the sake of the souls in purgatory, that they may enter more quickly into the fullness of Heaven.
Prayer to the Sacred Heart for the Church
O most holy Heart of Jesus, shower Thy blessings in abundant measure upon Thy holy Church, upon the Supreme Pontiff, and upon all the clergy; to the just grant perseverance; convert sinners; enlighten unbelievers; bless our relations, friends, and benefactors; assist the dying; deliver the holy souls in purgatory; and extend over all hearts the sweet empire of Thy love. Amen.
