Devotion to the Holy Name of Jesus
A Devotion for January, the Month of the Holy Name of Jesus

By Scott P. Richert, About.com

This Devotion to the Holy Name of Jesus is designed for group prayer. It is a very good way to incorporate prayer to the Holy Name into our family prayers during January, the Month of the Holy Name of Jesus—perhaps after Grace After Meals.

The father or other leader should recite the antiphon and verse, and the rest of the family or group should recite the response. The prayer is then said by the father or other leader, and the antiphon, verse, and response can be repeated at the end.

Devotion to the Holy Name of Jesus

Ant. Thou shalt call His Name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins.
V. May the Name of the Lord be blessed.
R. Henceforth now and forever.

Let us Pray.

O God, Who didst make Thy only-begotten Son the Saviour of the human race, and didst command Him to be called Jesus, grant propitiously that Him Whose holy Name we venerate on earth, we may behold in the glorious vision of heaven. Who with Thee liveth and reigneth forever and ever. Amen.
