I've also found the "Faces" face-recognition technology fascinating. It does a pretty good job out of the box, but it gets better as you train it by confirming that the face in a particular photo is, indeed, who iPhoto thinks it is. With each confirmation, iPhoto adjusts its algorithm for that person, and the results get remarkably accurate quite quickly.
Still, at the beginning, some of misrecognitions can be amusing (click on the image to see it at full size):
My children got quite a laugh out of that, and the misidentification of a statue of Christ as their grandfather was the icing on the cake. Those two alone were worth the price of admission.
