Pope John Paul II
- I love Pope John Paul II. He was truly GREAT. I experienced a locution in the form of a flash of light in front of his statue at St. Mary's Basilica in Phoenix, Arizona.

The Decision of the Almighty God
- The decision to beatify JP2 is that of the Almighty God and Him alone. There's nothing anybody can do about it if Eternal Father so decides. His canonization will, also, be determined by God. Pope John Paul II is a great, humble and a true Catholic. Ever meditated on his Mystery of Light? That is the work of a heavenly man. We should not be surprised to witness his canonization earlier than expected because the Blessed Pope John Paul II is a true reflection of the Church and a true son of Our Blessed Virgin Mary! God bless the Pope!

A Role Model
- As a student I was one of the 3 representatives of my school in 1982 when JP 2 visted Onitsha, Nigeria, and since then I closely followed his pontificate. He was holy and fully dedicated to his mission and priestly vows to the best of my knowledge. His motto: Totus tuus, reflected in his relationship with God and man. His life of prayer was exemplary, his commitment to God and salvation of souls and world peace is unprecedented. This Apostle of Divine Mercy is a fulfillment of God's mercy and His Promises through the Blessed Virgin Mary. He brought the Papacy closer to the lay people and gave us strong and personal lessons on forgiveness. I have no doubt in my soul that Pope John Paul II is a saint and the Church is only about to make an official proclamation to that effect so that the faithful can avail themselves of his intercession. To God Be All The Glory.

John Paul 2's Beatification
- John Paul 2 is such a special man! I am so happy he will be named a saint but I already thought of him as a saint while he was alive. I saw him in his 1984 visit to Canada, I only got to catch a glimpse of him passing by in the popemobile when I was a kid, but what a grace to have seen him. I love Pope John Paul so much, I grew up only knowing him as a pope and every time I look at him in my prayer card I have of him, I can't help but to think of what a beautiful and remarkable man God had created. He was truly amazing!

Devil's Advocate
- The commandant of the Marine Corps is judged-not on his personal service as a US Marine-but on the condition of the corps during his watch. John Paul II has bequeathed to us a Church riddled with homosexual priests and religious, an episcopate enamored with left-wing causes while deaf and mute when it comes to defending life, purity, and the truths of the Catholic faith. The late pontiff's style of leadership (in homage to collegiality) was to let the bishops solve their own problems in their own dioceses. This doesn't sound too bad except in the many, many instances when the bishop IS the problem. What then? The Church throughout the world is in a self-destructing mode, and Catholics have been so numbed by fraudulent catechesis as not to notice. I was second to none in my enthusiasm for his early pontificate (I still have my recordings 1st trip to Poland) but the subsequent years revealed ecumenism run wild (Assisi: animists, etc.) and theological insanity. I'm unimpressed.

Prayer of Divine Mercy Endorsed by Him
- God used him for so many things. He introduced Luminous Mysteries, Fatima secrets are opened, God's final Mercy revealed through Divine Mercy. A true servant of God. God said "you will do greater things than what I did."

I Will Trust the Church, But . . .
- I am struggling a bit with this. I feel like we are rushing it and wish the Church had not waived the 5 year waiting period. It feels a bit political to me. This is not to say that I don't trust the Church and its decisions, though. Just wish things would move for Blessed John XXIII as well.

Pope of Peace
- i saw JP2 when he came to Nigeria. I am happy that this is happening in my lifetime. When he was ill I was so scared for the Church but I thank God for how things are turning out. I pray that many miracles may be done in confirmation. LONG LIVE THE CHURCH OF GOD!

The Spirit-Filled Pope
- Pope John Paul II has been a very strong influence in my life. I admire him for his moral courage, clear and fearless teaching of how one needs to live the Catholic Faith in today's world and especially his staunch promotion of freedom of speech and the practice of one's faith and every pro-life issue. His simplicity, genuine affection and a friendly ear to the young people and the old have endeared him to all. He is one pope I cannot forget. Through his beatification he is sure to bring many closer to God.

Blessed Pope John Paul II
- I am overjoyed with the news of the beatification of Pope John Paul II on May 1, 2011. He was such a saintly pope. I love him; but our Blessed Mother Mary love him more! Blessed Pope John Paul II - pray for us!

Pope John Paul Was Inspirational
- The humble pope's visit to Zimbabwe in 1988 was marked by kissing the soil of Zimbabwe to indicate his total union with the people of the land and he focused on forgiveness and peace as the core of his homily. The humble pope was exemplary on the issue of forgiveness for he himself forgave the enemy who shot him. He also furthered the will of Jesus Christ by continual preaching and visits to other religions especially the Islamic religion to demonstrate ecumenism/brotherhood among humanity through reconciliation. The Pope's encouragement on fortitude on Christian grounds was very much striking especially in his address to the youth when he said, "Youth of today, do not fear to risk your life for Christ for to be a Christian means to be a candidate for martyrdom." Pope John Paul is a shining example of the witnesses of Christ. I believe very well that his beatification is a true revelation of the predestined will of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Feeling
- Every time I saw Pope John Paul 2 in the TV my heart bleeds and I want to cry with no reasons at all. Pope John Paul 2 is not an ordinary person. I love him so much.

JPII as Saint
- I am at a difficult state of mind when it comes to make JPII a saint. Yes three World Youth Days did make JPII a joy to behold. However, a decision to take the crucifixes out of the church at Assisi to accommodate false religions and to disobey the Blessed Virgin Mary in regards to the Consecration of Russia leaves me wondering why he let the Catholic become equal with these other religions. Also homosexuality and pedophilia ran rampant during his papacy. I will pray for him and hope that my thoughts are wrong.

Hero of Modern Times
- Pope JP II is a hero in every sense of that word; in the secular as well as in the religious worlds. He brought strength, character, openness, honesty, commitment to Jesus and His Church, and spread the Gospel message of Hope to all. I believe God welcomed him home with open arms and now he is no less able to assist the Church and the world he so nobly served in life.
