What I Lost
In the 1960's I wore "hard" contact lenses which at the time were fairly expensive—$400.00. I lost one while singing around a bonfire at night on a sandy beach. A group of us looked for it—a contact lens in sand!
Why I Prayed to Saint Anthony, and What Happened
The next morning I offered Mass and Communion to St. Anthony for the return of the lens. About one hour later, answering a knock at our cottage door, there was a young person wondering if this was the place where a person had lost a contact lens and would this be it? A "hard" contact lens in his hand.
It was. My non-Catholic friend almost converted on the spot!
Advice
- St. Anthony is POWERFUL!
- I have a small (5") statue to him in my home.
- Novenas to Anthony are wonderful. He has answered so many of my prayers.
- I do not consider myself a careless person, but he has answered so many prayers, so quickly. Children, grandchildren—accidents and lost items happen.
- Novenas and publication in newspapers are great!
