How Long Have You Used Natural Family Planning (NFP)?

My husband and I have just started using NFP this month, actually.

Will You Continue to Use Natural Family Planning?

Yes. We plan to use NFP from now on.

How Many Children Do You Have?

We currently have one child.

Why Did You Decide to Use Natural Family Planning?

We decided to use Natural Family Planning because we have always been open to as many children as the Lord blesses us with, and I would love to have a large family. After discussing it, we realized that NFP was the best way to fully be open to the Lord's planning for children in our life as a family.

What NFP Method Do You Use, and Why Did You Choose It?

We are still learning, and using a lot of online resources to learn about Natural Family Planning. We are currently using the Creighton model of tracking symptoms rather than temperature. We chose this method because it worked well for us when we were trying to conceive, and is easier to track than temperature with my chaotic schedule.

Lessons Learned

  • My husband and I feel a lot closer now than we did. Our physical relationship is much more important on an emotional level.
  • We've also learned that we really are open to whatever the Lord brings our way. When you use artificial birth control, it's easy to come up with reasons to not have a baby. When you're using NFP, you're reminded of just how precious the gift of a child would be, and that you really are ready.
