Did You Make This Advent Wreath or Was It Given to You?

I made it, purchased the round part of the bottom gold-colored ring, and candles in a small box from the Christian store.

How Do You Use the Advent Wreath?

On Sunday candles are lit and I am saving some candles for the 25th. This is the first time I bought one to use at home. Advent is a time of joyful expectation of the coming of the Lord. It is a time of conversion and renewal, a time of watching and waiting, a time of new beginnings. All of these find expression in the Advent prayer "Maranatha: Come, Lord Jesus." The heart of the Advent message is to be found in the Scripture passages of the Sundays of the season.

That message is above all one of hope, peace and joy. It is a message which must filter through the preaching of Advent into our daily lives. How does each one of us prepare for the coming of Jesus into our lives now and in times to come?

Tips and Tricks

  • I went to Lowes and Home Depot and the very bottom of the trees can be removed. I did ask first if I could have the branches. Some are left on the ground that would be thrown away anyway.
