Lesson Second of the
Baltimore Catechism No. 2 discusses the essential attribute of God: His perfection. That perfection is seen in His omniscience (knowing all things), omnipotence (ability to do all things), and omnipresence (being everywhere), as well as in His eternal existence.
God, in contrast to the gods of paganism, is pure spirit. The material world is good, but matter has been flawed through man's sin. The lack of flaw in God is evidence of His nature as pure spirit.
