Abstinence from meat can present a real challenge to those (myself included) who find that more carbs equals more weight. While the point of our Lenten fasting is different from dieting, it still seems a bit odd to end Lent a few pounds heavier than when we started.

I really do not see the “big deal” regarding no meat fridays during lent. Eat a great pizza loaded with artichokes, spinach, lots of other veggies….peppers,olives (all kinds, calamata,black,green etc.) and top with plenty of sundried tomatoes and shredded cheese! Now…is that so bad? ;)
