Remembering the Most Forsaken

As the Month of the Holy Souls in Purgatory draws to a close, we should turn our thoughts to those souls in Purgatory who don't have anyone to pray for them.A Memento Mori marks a tomb in the Church of Santa Maria sopra Minerva in Rome. (Photo Scott P. Richert) They have the promise of eternal life in Heaven, but their sufferings continue because no one on earth intercedes for them, through prayer for the dead or through "offering it up."

So, in these last few days of November, why not say your Morning Offering in memory of those souls in Purgatory who are most forsaken? Offer up your own trials and sufferings throughout the day for them, and say a Prayer for Mercy on the Souls in Purgatory, which calls to mind those who are most forsaken.

Remember--if we come to the aid of the souls in Purgatory when they need our prayers, they will come to our aid before the throne of God when they enter Heaven. That's what the Communion of Saints is all about.

Thank you for reminding people that although the catholic church has dedicated the month of November to prayer for the poor souls, the poor souls need our prayers every second of the day.

PLEASE try to find a purgatorial society near you, or ask your pastor if he would offer a Requiem Mass once per month. The beauty of a Requiem Mass is one of the most beautiful Masses you could ever attend. If you need help, contact us at <a href="www.poorsoulsprayers.com" title=poor souls in purgatory for ideas.

The more you pray for them, the more they pray for you. Many people have died and the poor souls they helped get to Heaven through their prayers for the poor soul greeted their soul as it entered into the next life.
