As the Month of the Holy Souls in Purgatory draws to a close, we should turn our thoughts to those souls in Purgatory who don't have anyone to pray for them. They have the promise of eternal life in Heaven, but their sufferings continue because no one on earth intercedes for them, through prayer for the dead or through "offering it up."
So, in these last few days of November, why not say your Morning Offering in memory of those souls in Purgatory who are most forsaken? Offer up your own trials and sufferings throughout the day for them, and say a Prayer for Mercy on the Souls in Purgatory, which calls to mind those who are most forsaken.
Remember--if we come to the aid of the souls in Purgatory when they need our prayers, they will come to our aid before the throne of God when they enter Heaven. That's what the Communion of Saints is all about.
