A quick contest this week. The winner will be the first person who can tell me what's a bit odd about this plaque today. (There's a clue in the previous sentence.) I'll announce the winner in next week's Wordless Wednesday post.

I have no idea! All I can think of is that the Mass was in the old Yankee Stadium…not the new one…

I think its the only plaque there that isn’t rectangular or square? And, maybe also it shows a side-profile of the Holy Father, whereas the other plaques in Memorial Park are forward-facing likenesses?

The Mass was celebrated in 2008, not 2005

I hope this is the contest! The date commemorating the Mass at Yankie Stadium plaque is one day after Bendict XVI was elected Pope. This certainly implies that the new Pope was remarkably fast getting to his paper work!

Is there a Solemn Pontifical Mass in the Novus Ordo? Or did Pope B. XVI use the Extraordinary Form?

I would say it’s the year dated on the plaque.
