The U.S. presidential election dominated the secular news in September 2008, and it made its appearance on the About.com Catholicism guidesite, too, in discussions of abortion,
embryonic stem-cell research, and prudential judgments and
the war in Iraq. We also revisited the Catholic Church's teaching on what constitutes the Church of Christ, as well as the increasing interest among priests and laity in the traditional celebration of the Mass facing east.
