By the way, half my family is named Francesca for my grandmother. The other half is named Giovanni Battista (John the Baptist) for my grandfather, who was named after our Italian town’s patron saint. The town is Buonopane, Ischia, an island off the coast of Naples. They even used to dress up my father Pasquale to look St. John the Baptist for the parade on the feast day June 24.
