Lost Something? It's Your Lucky Day!

Friday June 13, 2008
Saint Anthony of Padua holding the Infant Jesus (Public Domain).June 13 is the feast day of Saint Anthony of Padua, a priest and doctor of the Church. Chosen by St. Francis of Assisi himself to teach theology to the Franciscan brothers, St. Anthony was known in his lifetime as a great preacher and an implacable foe of heretics.

St. Anthony is one of the few Western saints to receive the title "Wonder-Worker," for the many miracles he performed during his life. After passing from this world into the next, St. Anthony continued to have a reputation for working wonders, which is why, every day, millions of Catholics pray to St. Anthony to find lost articles.
